We have more than one staff member who would be a part of posting information to our digital sign. Is it possible to download the software to another computer?
We have numerous messages saved as .S8D files that were created and saved to a certain laptop. A new laptop is wanting to be used to create messages in Vivid Message Composer. This laptop only recognizes .S8H files. Is there a way to have it recognize the older files? If so how do we go about doing that? We would prefer not to have to create an entire new set of files/messages. We are a school so the messages sometimes just need dates adjusted.

Yes, it is possible to have the new laptop recognize the older files. You can try changing the file extension from .S8D to .S8H manually. If that doesn't work, you may need to contact the support team of OPTEC ViViD Message Composer for further assistance on converting the file types.
To disable their ability to wake up the system, go to the device manager, find the desired device, right-click on it and select "Properties". On the Power Options tab, disable the "Allow this device to wake up computer" option and apply the settings.
I can't open the application due to an "Access Violation" message. Also, I'm receiving a "0041f438" and "0048f9aa" message. What can I do?

In order to fix the issue, go to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a program, select the software from the list and click Uninstall. After that, reboot your computer, run a registry cleaner from Software Informer database to make sure that there are no leftover registry keys in your system and install the program again. If you still have issues, I suggest you contact the Optec Support team using 1-800-876-1668 phone number.
OPTEC has sent me unique files for my sign, but I cannot view them. I can't get any program to read the .opv files. And the "viewer" program that came with the files will not open them either.

I have searched the web and no application is available to view the OPV file formats which means this is a proprietary format and only the applications released by Optec. If the viewer application is not working on your computer, then you need to either apply a compatibility tweak or simply contact the Customer Service on the official website: http://www.optec.com/led-signs-customer-support/
To apply a compatibility tweak, right click the view application and go to Properties > Compatibility. After this, select a previous version of Windows from the list and tick the Run as Administrator, then launch the viewer again.
How do I set the length of the message to be displayed, right now it's only 3 seconds. I need it to be longer. Thanks in advance.

This is actually a programming application which means it's using proprietary code to adjust the length for messages displayed on panel. I have searched and found a user guide that you can use for this purpose. I have opened the file and saw all the necessary instruction to learn how to define the length of the messages or effects that will be displayed.
There is an easy fix for this error. You will have to install Service Pack 3 because it contains updates for the operating system including the error for the user32.dll. However, the support for Windows XP is no longer active which means the Service Pack 3 is not available anymore. You might need to update to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 and then use the application. You can buy Windows 8 from the official website.

To disable their ability to wake up the system, go to the device manager, find the desired device, right-click on it and select "Properties".
On the Power Options tab, disable the "Allow this device to wake up computer" option and apply the settings.
